Hardo is a dope upcoming rapper! Watch below!

“Fresh off his deal with Sony, Pittsburgh’s Hardo stopped by the MASS APPEAL offices to kick “a little something light for y’all” in this latest edition of our Stairwell Freestyle series. After joking about taking a lyrical miracle approach, Hardo kicks a cold barrage of bars about flipping hard living into big checks on the streets of the ‘Burgh.

If you’re not already up on Hardo, he’s definitely one to watch. Back in April, we premiered his “Grave Digger” video, featuring Young Gee. Everyone knows Pittsburgh hasn’t had a ton of looks–and certainly no real breakout stars (yet)–outside of Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller. Hardo sees himself as representing for a different side of the city. As he said then: I’m the untold story of Pittsburgh. We have Wiz Khalifa, and we got Mac, but we don’t have anyone that can represent the problems we go through in Pittsburgh, or how six women were killed at a cook out and how we lose damn near 100 people a year in a small city.

I’m the representation of those things and I believe I can vividly explain these things in a way to make people not want to go these routes. But at the end of the day, we are human and we gotta eat, so if they won’t help us with plan A or B, at least I can explain how to go about C and D the right way as a stepping stone if we have no other choice. In his Stairwell Freestyle, Hardo continued to deliver his brand of reality rap. “I got caught up in the streets like my Dad did / and my Grandad / Started trappin’ out the house / that’s abandoned.” Catch Hardo in a city near you as part of Detroit rapper Tee Grizzley’s ‘Ain’t It A Blessing Tour.”
