What’s going on everyone, its Ryan, and I am back with another interview. This time around I caught up with MC Nike Nando from PG County, Maryland. Over the past few years he has been performing in the DMV and all around the country. His composed rapping style and lyrical ability really caught my attention. I feel the passion in the beats and in each verse I hear. Recently, Nike Nando performed at the Blue Line Festival in Springfield, VA. I couldn’t make it out there but I heard his set was a success. His new project SprdLv drops in March. Give him a listen. I know you’ll like what you hear. And keep an ear out for SprdLv coming soon.

1. Where are you from? What was it like to grow up in Maryland?

Im from PG County. Maryland is like any other place in the DMV, influenced by style, music and culture. What makes PG different is the fact that were the diamond in the rough. We got so many talents here musically but everyone usually claims to be from somewhere else.

2. Where did the name Nike Nando come from?

Nike is the goddess of victory. I incorporated that in my name because I feel as though my late mother was a goddess. We overcame so much so it was like a victory in itself. Thus…Im the son of the goddess of victory….oh, and I like.sneakers too.

3. How did you get into making music?

Ive been making music since I was 6 years old. Ive been in love with music since I 1st got the chance to listen to Dr. Dre’s “The Cronic” album. So since then I recorded with anything I could get my hands on until I built my own studio.

4. Who are some of your favorite artists?

7.Where do you get your inspiration from?

I get alot of inspiration from everyday life. Seeing new things, and traveling. Making music isnt difficult…It’s all about how you capture the moment.

8. What do you want to accomplish with your music?

I want anyone whose ever really had a dream no matter what it is to know that the can do anything. No matter what anyone says.

9. Would you say the year 2012 was productive?

For me 2012 was about rebuilding. Taking time to come out with some good music.

Yeah, just to remain consistent and keep myself motivated and focused with my music and mantaining my personal life.
