What’s good everyone! We recently linked up with upcoming Los Angeles artist J. Clarke. J.Clarke is on the come up and we had to do an interview with him. Check out the interview and stay tuned for more!
1. Where did you grow up?
I grew up all over the LA County but my main stomping grounds was Hawthorne, CA. Shoutout to the city of good neighbors. The 90250!
2. What was that like?
The city treated me well, but you know growing up as a black man in LA or America period is a difficult task so there were ups and downs but the people showed me love. The challenges I faced being black brought about a certain pain. I took this pain and created music with it. You can feel my music. It’s real.
3. How did you get into making music?
From my parents playing oldies around the house to me coming home from school and turning BET or MTV on to watch music videos. These television stations contributed a lot to my musical influence
4. What musical influences did you have growing up?
As far as artist, I was inspired by the works of Jay-Z, Kanye West, 50 Cent, The Game, Snoop, Pharrell, and many more!
5. Is there an artist you want to work with?
Being from the west coast, I would like to work with all upcoming Cali artist and anybody who I deem to be talented. I’m open to make great music with any artist.
6. Any plans for the summer?
This summer my biggest plan is to promote my latest mixtape and build my following. I’m one of the greatest artist to ever come out of LA and I have to work hard this summer to make sure everyone knows that.
