“Over the last few years Skizz has been helping lay the groundwork for Your Old Droog (as his producer, engineer, and touring DJ), while also producing for other notable artists (Sean Price, Masta Ace, Havoc, Roc Marciano among many) and launching his Different Worlds Music Group imprint.

On 7-29-2016, Skizz will release his second official producer album, Cruise Control, and he recruited a mix of veteran OG’s (Evidence, Roc Marciano, O.C., Planet Asia) as well as dope up-and-comers (Your Old Droog, Conway, Hus Kingpin) to provide a dope, original and cohesive project that will serve as the soundtrack to your summer’s BBQ’s.

Skizz’s frequent collaborator, Your Old Droog, previously set it off with the first leak, “Listen To Jazz,” from Cruise Control and today Skizz is back with friends in tow for “Bosses” featuring Roc Marciano and Conway (co-produced by Frank Dukes); which was exclusively premiered by XXL.

“Cruise Control is a progression for me sonically.” Skizz commented to XXL. “It’s still that raw boom-bap, but Cruise Control is a bit more slick and melodious. “Bosses” is one of my personal favorite songs off the album. I made the beat with my friend Frank Dukes (Drake, Kanye West, Rihanna, Future, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Selena Gomez etc) after I came back from a trip to the Dominican Republic and had bought a bunch of records. We listened to a stack of them in my studio and made a few beats, one of which was this “Bosses” beat. Eventually two of the best emcees out (Roc Marci and Conway) blessed it. I have worked with Roc Marciano prior on my B.Q.E. album (“Light Years”), but this was my first time working with Conway; who is becoming one of my favorite emcees.” Conway was quick to concur with Skizz’s sentiments, as he told XXL “when I first heard the beat it reminded me of that raw street shit the people love; that grimey sound.”

Skizz’s Cruise Control impacts on 7-29-2016 via Different Worlds Music Group/Fatbeats.”
