F.L.E.X. Clothing is designed with passion in mind. This urban fashion line has been building its brand in Baltimore, MD since 2006, fully committed to promoting the best kind of lifestyle. The message behind their designs rings true for everyone who wants to lead a positive and productive existence. “Life…Without struggle there is no progress,” appears as a t-shirt design among other original graphic displays that endorse constructive thoughts. I encourage this brand because its creators believe in the pursuit of success, and in stimulating the minds of people. Check out their merchandise, and support a brand that stands for excellence.

I reached out to F.L.E.X. with some Q&A, to get a more personal glimpse of their vision for the company. Here is what they had to say:

1. Where is the team from?

Mike is from East Orange Nj and Brandon is from Brooklyn Ny, but we both reside in Baltimore now.

2. What brands did you all wear growing up?

We grew up off of karl kani, tommy, nautica, polo, fubu, rocawear, sean john

3. Where do your designs come from?

We created this clothing line to be inspiration, and motivation to everyone. We separate ourselves from any other clothing line because we push the boundaries in the realm for urban clothing. Also every piece we create contains a motivational message or statement. When you put on one of our pieces we want you to feel as if that shirt is your theme or attitude every time you wear it.

4. Is there a certain artist or designer that influenced any of the designs?

We just did a What Would Biggie do design. that was influenced by the notorious big and him being missed in the hip-hop community. We hear certain songs and see certain things and ask ourselves what would biggie do if he was alive.

5. Could you describe how music and clothing go together?

They have always gone hand in hand because as an artist you want to wear the latest and freshest gear.

6. What is like to start and run a clothing/lifestyle brand?

That’s a hard question because theres so many elements to having your own brand and business. But I would say it’s a headache, tough, a lot of work, the shit. But if you really love what you do and have passion for it everything will be fine, and you will overcome every obstacle.

7. Do you have any advice for the people starting off….how to market, how to choose material, how to approach retail shops… etc.?

What works for us probably wouldn’t work for somebody else because we are all different. You just have to do your research on everything you do, and apply it to your situation, weather you are approaching retailers, marketing or choosing material.

8. What do you want to accomplish through clothing and your brand?

Forever Living Extreme Xtravagance is not about money, it’s not about flash, its much deeper. When we say “Extreme Xtravagance” it doesn’t mean 250K cars, or mansions, it’s a mentality, it’s literally a lifestyle. If we all woke up everyday thinking about doing the absolute best we can for that day we would all be in better places in every aspect of our lives.

“Extreme Xtravagance” refers to your mind state. We believe that if we could all motivate each other to do better, and be better people, that’s exactly what would happen. It goes back to that old cliché “nothing is impossible”. Inspiring and motivating ourselves everyday to do something that is rarely done, to accomplish goals that are rarely accomplished, the thought of expressing life’s obstacles, and life’s triumphs through our clothing is, to us, Extreme Xtravagance. Positive thinking yields positive results.
