What’s going on everyone! We are back with another interview! Today, we speak Petersburg,Virginia/Long Beach, California artist Donte Epps. Donte has a unique style with his music and touches on many different topics! In the interview, we speak on Donte’s upcoming event Small World 2, which allows artists to perform and network! 1. Where are you from and what was it like growing up there?
Born in Petersburg Virginia. Moved to Long Beach at 17. Im 31 now. VA was humbling. Poverty.
2. What music inspired you growing up?
I was a Snoop Dogg fan early on, and later really began to rock with Tupac.
3. What artist/producer have you always wanted to work with?
As a artist I really want to work with Kalan.frfr and Drake.
4. Tell us about your upcoming event ‘Small World 2’.
Small World 2 is my 2nd time hosting a showcase. I feel like platforms for artists to perform are scarce, so this allows them to do that while gaining new fans, networking, learning, and gaining content.
5. What plans do you have for 2023?
In 2023 I want to drop another Album/EP as a event planner I want to do 10 shows next year
6. What do you want people to take away from your music?
For me the biggest thing is to not be put in a box. Each song of mine comes from a new space, so I am a big fan of experimenting with new sounds often.
My story is the same 804 to 562. A real workaholic, but someone thats for the people.
