What’s good everyone!! We have another exclusive interview for ya’ll. Tonight, we speak with Tacoma, WA/Los Angeles based artist Lil Boof. Lil Boof has been sending me music for some years now. Lil Boof always brings the energy to the booth and has always provided high quality videos! Check out the interview and his latest project Concrete Roses with Big Sad 1900 below!
- Where are you from and what was it like growing up there?
I’m from Tacoma, WA although I was born & raised in federal way I spent essentially my childhood split between the two. But growing up out here was cool, I wouldn’t have it traded for anything, the experiences I had were what made me who I am.
2. You told me you moved to Los Angeles. What made you want to make the move & how has it been so far?
Yes I did. And I love LA. Basically all my family on my dads side is there currently or grew up there so you could say I have roots to the city. But I don’t know man I just love LA & the aura not on no Hollywood shit though like I really be all around the city. I was motivated to move to LA really to just focus on my music career for the opportunities.
3. What artists influenced you growing up?
Man. A lot bro I could go for literally days and I’m gonna forget some for sure but here’s some: Chief Keef, Speaker Knockerz, Drake, Suga Free, DJ Quik, Carti, Uno, Fauni, Tyler The Creator, Wiz Khalifa, 2pac, Young Pappy, G-Herbo, E-40 shit bro my music catalogue is crazy!
4. If you could work with any artist/producer who would it be?
Right now I’d say Lil Baby. I’m fucking with bro he one of my favorites out right now for sure. We’d make a hit no doubt. But on some different shit I’d love to do some alternative with like Tame Impala or something that would be cool.
5. Tell us about your latest project Concrete Roses with Big Sad 1900.
Concrete Roses is a 5 track long EP me & Big Sad did that recorded when he came out to Seattle in the beginning of June (2021) It’s something different I’d say but it got that West Coast vibe to it at the same time you know what I mean?
6. What was it like working with Big Sad?
It was cool fosho. Bro is a real artist and I realized that when I first got in the studio with him. Bro can really knock like 5-6 songs out a night like it’s nothing completely finished too. It was a great experience seeing how bro works and like structures his songs together, I learned a thing or two from Sad during the time we recorded the project undoubtedly. And to top it off bro is just a solid individual no rapper ego none of that we was just vibing making music.
7. What else do you have planned for this year?
I have a lot planned. What I can tell you is there will be an influx of new music from Lil Boof for the remainder of 2021 & until further notice. I’m taking this stuff serious now, I realized there’s no reason for me to play around anymore and this is what I’m supposed to be doing so just stay tuned in for what’s next.
8. Anything you want the world to know…
I just want to tell all my fans, supporters whatever you want to call yourself I appreciate you guys for staying down with me through it all. Without my supporters I’d be nothing.
