This week’s pick goes to Fredo Santana’s “Jealous” featuring Kendrick Lamar. The 808 Mafia beat on this one is sick; it’s simple yet strong, chilling, beautiful, and hard all at the same time. The concept is driven by the threat that a person’s jealousy can bring to life. No matter where you are from, if the light shines on you, bet that someone will try to keep you from climbing to the top. Those people are usually the ones closest to you; plottin on you in different ways. So “watch who you hang with,” to say the least; a message that everyone should live by. Anyway, this one really speaks for itself. Fredo and Kendrick made a solid record here.
