What’s goin on everyone?! I hope you all are having a good week. The seasons are changing, and if there’s one thing I’ve always enjoyed, it’s the music that represents that change. If you’re from a place where the winter temperatures are a blistering cold, than you know what I mean. This week’s Song of the Week sets the tone for a chill in the air, yet it warms the soul at the same time. The Song of the Week goes to Malik Ferraud’s “Nothing Comes Easy” featuring Emilio Rojas, produced by Spencer Brown. This one is a timeless piece of art, which offers the notion of what it means to be successful. New York artist Emilio hits the first verse with a strong certainty: that you have to give it all or nothing to get what you want; leaving your back- up plan, and anyone who isn’t down, in the dust. Baltimore, MD artist Malik discusses the mental mess that pursuing a dream puts you through. He transcends the notion that to come out on top, you’ve got to believe in yourself and in a future that no one else may believe in. You have to battle your own doubts, and take a chance in a game that is unfavorable. This song sends a message that goes beyond positivity. It is a message to all humanity, that nothing comes easy, meaning you will lose a whole lot before you receive even a piece of what you are after. But hang in there, because if it’s a dream worth having, you will stand by it to the death of you. And if your dream is a dream worth dying for, than the life that you’ll gain out of accomplishing it will be epic. Give a listen below, and as always Stay Positive!
