What’s Good Everyone!?!? Recently, we got the opportunity to interview Los Angeles artist Bolt Da House. Even tho, Bolt Da House is currently incarcerated, that does not stop him from releasing music and handling business. You can check out his new project Against All Odds! Read the new interview below!

  1. Being From Los Angeles, what was it like growing up there?

Well I experienced a wide range of experiences growing up in South Central LA. As a kid it was great growing up in the hood, running around with the homies, playing sports, riding bikes, water fights and shit during the summer, functioning at house parties, just doing what we do. But in alot of ways being immersed in the hood and being from the gang, and alot of ways growing up I was blind to the struggle in a sense because alot of things like gang violence, police harassment, low income housing, and homies dying & going to jail just seemed like things that happen in the hood, you become accustomed to it. But it’s through this unique up bringing that made me who I am today.

2. What music inspired you growing up or when you got older?

Growing up and going to family functions, like for the holidays, my folks use to bump ” Oldies ” alot on my pops side of the family, because it was a older crowd, and then on my mom side which was younger, it was 90’s R&B and Rap. So both of those musical influences influenced and shaped  the type of music I gravitated to in my teenage years and as I got older. Which was”Substance, Soul, Passion, and Lyrics. I fucked with Jay-z, Pac, Nas,… Music with a message & meaning inspires me.

3. Any artists/producers you would like to work with?

Yea for sure I love what 1500 or nothing is doing, Mike & Keys, I mean it’s alot of producers that’s doing great work out there, but honestly I’m so locked in right now with my current producer and building what we got and building our thing, I’m exclusively working with him right now right now. Shout out Zayden808 who I just signed to my Label New Heights Empire.

And then for the Artist, it’s alot of talented Artist out there. Honestly too many to name on the real, but what I will say is I look forward to working with the one’s I will eventually work with.

4. Tell us about your new project.

My latest project is a body of work that I been working diligently to put out over the years, but wasn’t in a position to do so in the past. So to have it manifest in despite of all the obstacles & setbacks. It’s Simply Amazing! That’s why I chose the name “Against All Odds”because that’s really what it is. And every song on the album is apart of me, it’s my truth, it’s me letting the listeners experience my experience through my eyes.

5. I understand you are incarcerated, when you get out what do you have planned?

Well before I speak on what I have planned when I get out,I I would like to spotlight some of the things I’ve accomplished since I been down, as it relates to my plans when get out. I started my own Record Label/Conglomerate “New Heights Empire” and just recently signed my first Artist/Producer. Shout out Yxng Anointed. I started my own clothing line “High Life Society”. So now to when I get out I plan to expand and build my team and the New Heights Empire brand to be a global powerhouse, and as our platform grow so will our service to the community, the youth, and the people that need it the most.

6. In the past three years, what are the three most important things you have learned?

“In the past three years the three most important things I’ve learned on a personal level an nd as far as Dreams, Goals & Aspirations. I will start with losing Loved ones over these past few years, especially in this situation has really sharpened my appreciation for appreciation for life in general and just have inspired me to live life to the fullest. And as far as “Dreams, Goals & Aspirations” I learned to Dream big and follow through bigger, and most importantly to believe in yourself, your visions and your dreams. And with “Dedication, Resilience, Hard work, perseverance, and an undying drive to see it all through, you will eventually manifest it”.

7. Any advice you want to give the youth”

Absolutely, for the youth don’t let nobody tell you that you’re not enough or that you don’t matter because you are enough and you do matter because you are the Future. So dream big and follow through bigger, Meaning you could be whatever it is you want to be in life, “President, Scientist, Astronaut, Doctor, Lawyer, etc” You Dream it up, you think it, with hard work, dedication, and believing in yourself you can achieve sac b anything you put your mind, heart, and energy in to.
