We speak on growing up in Watts, musical inspirations, interviewing artists and much much more! Connect with Jami HERE!

  1. Where are you from and what was it like growing up there?

Honestly, I’m from a small district called Watts, California. I went to Locke high school graduated from Crenshaw. Being from Watts its like any district/city in the world, it had it’s up and downs but definitely more ups. What I do realize now that I’m older I knew what gang territory was at a young age and what colors I could/could not wear. I wear any color I want now that I’m older I don’t care I walk with god.

2. What music inspired you growing up and now currently?

Nas, Tupac, Jay Z, Kanye West and Nipsey Hussle is Gods lyrically. DMX, J. Cole, & Fabolous is Jesus lyrically. Lauryn Hill is like the Virgin Mary. That music is the reason why I fell in love with music. People that I currently listen to are Saviii3rd, he definitely is Tupac of his generation. I love his music when he raps, I listen to him, it’s like he’s speaking to me and only me, let me get off the question I can keep going. 1 more artist is Big Sad 1900 he hard AF! Saviii 3rd and Big Sad 1900 run the west and thats not up for debate.

3. You have a podcast, tell us about that and what made you start that and where did the inspiration come from?

I have a podcast called Jami B And Friends where we interview people from the West Coast. My goal is to show people how beautiful and talented the West Coast is. I love interviewing people not only artists/ entertainer, but iIlove to interview anyone who has a story.

4. What do you like about interviewing artists and what don’t you like?

I love to talk and I love to ask questions. So I thought it would be cool to interview people  that have a story to tell. I love interviewing artists before they blow up like Lil  Vada and DonnySolo.

5. Where do you see yourself in five years?

I see my self with my brother Lavonte F Smith having other podcasters under us. Everything I do is because of my brother he’s the reason why I do what I do. To be honest thats a question him and I could only answer together Jami B and friends podcast is nothing with out my brother.

6. What do you want people to take  from your podcast?

I want people to know I’m human, I’m flawed, I’m not perfect, but I hope when you hear / look at my podcast you can relate. I hope it puts a smile on your  face and makes your day.

7. Anything else you the want world to know…

My dream is to interview Matt Barnes. I met him a couple of time real humble dude. I would also love to interview Charlamagne tha God and Big Boy. I will interview them soon. I already put it in the universe and I shall receive it!
