What’s going down everyone! It’s Ryan and we back with another interview! This time, we speak with upcoming Los Angeles artist Tae West. Tae West has a very laid back positive style to rapping. I included some of his tracks below! I asked him some questions and he responded with some great details!

Stay tuned for more from Tae West.

  1. Where did you grow up in Los Angeles?

I grew up in the Crenshaw district most of my younger years and high school but I used to get kicked out of schools so I’d have to live w my granny out in Methoville from time to time lmao.

2. What was that like growing up there?

Growing up in the district as a lil kid was fun and black as fuck parents used to take me down to leimert every weekend. I got hella older brothers and sisters so when I was young i got too experience the real LA before the internet. J photos and the takeover all the good shit cause I was a kid, until I wasn’t, got a little older and moved away then back and I got a chance to fall in love with it again but also had to learn had to navigate thru it by myself. The district is the heart of LA in my opinion.

3. What kind of music did you hear as a youngster?

As a kid it was 10 niggas in my house I’ve damn near heard everything lmao my mom and dad old heads with they music taste, good oldies but my mom like Rnb all the temptations delfonics Switch type bands and my dad a George Clinton and Dj Quik type nigga my older brothers into rap so I was getting E-40 too short and Gucci in the early 2000s my sisters listen to all the female bangers since forever Beyoncé Monica keyshia cole , shit they even put me up on tink in high school shit I had a rock phase in middle school and i don’t regret it I couldn’t jerk and I was beating niggas up had to listen to something lmao.

4. What made you want to make music?

Music runs in my blood my grandpa toured with the commodores my dad was signed to WB back in the day but it also made me feel like it was just a option not my passion at first until my cousins made a song without me and I was hot stressing cause I knew I had to drop a remix ASAP niggas was 12 lmao killed them niggas off.

5. What would your dream collaboration be? Artists, producers etc etc..

Top three I want very badly Kendrick, Majid Jordan, and Kenny Beats it’s some niggas in the city I would love to work with too like Romo or Ty$.

6. What are you working on musically?

Honestly I got two projects I’m working on two different directions too. The new single “On My Mind” is going to be off my self titled ep “The Misadventures of Tae West” which I’m trying to have ready to drop August 28th my granny bday Rest In Peace and I’m still working on “Thunderdome Vol1.” Which should be dropping January. Misadventures is going to be a collection of house rnb no hook raps and relatable lyricism to show my taste of music and talent for it. That’s dropping August 28th it’s from me to the people who like good music they can listen to straight thru.

7. Favorite spot to eat in Los Angeles?

 Sachi’s easy call number 40.

8. Biggest lesson you learned growing up?

I can’t win for losing but that don’t mean don’t try. It’s ups and down for every real nigga so if I didn’t ever take a loss I wouldn’t be who I am you really gotta learn from it. Win lose or draw Ima get down

9. If you could work with any Los Angeles ever who would it be?

We talking LA or LA county? Lmao if we talking real deal LA I’d have to say Dom Kennedy that’s a fasho hit.

10. Anything you want the world to know…

August 28th “The Misadevntures Of Tae West” will be on Apple Music and look for “ On my Mind” on Apple Music Friday ‼️🏁.
